Genctur und GSM, unsere Partnerorganisationen, sind nicht-staatliche Jugendverbände. Die Projekte in der Türkei haben nichts mit Pauschalurlauben zu tun. Hier lernst du die echte Türkei kennen. Die Projekte zeichnen sich durch die hervorragende Gastfreundschaft der lokalen Bevölkerung aus. Wir empfehlen dir dringend den Abschluss einer eigenen Kranken- und Unfallversicherung. Vor Ort bist du sonst nicht versichert. Bei Genctur ist Treffpunkt immer in Istanbul. Die Kosten der Reise zum Camport tragen die Freiwilligen.

Für Workcamps in Ost- und Südosteuropa gewährt IBG - bei Einhaltung einiger Formalien - einen Fahrtkostenzuschuss. Weitere Informationen dazu findest du hier.

GEN-01 DRY STONE WALL / KUCUKKUYU-CANAKKALE 07.03 – 28.03.2009 10 VOLS
Bugday (Wheat) Association has a large network of Eco Farms in Turkey. BUGDAY has recently build an eco centre for educational purposes in the rural area of Canakkale province, facing the Aegean sea from the Kaz Mountains. The founders of the organisation have a 2 hektars olive field nearby the center. The field is steep so some soil erosion happens which can easily be controlled by dry stone terraces. This work will be done with willing volunteers and guidance of dry stone master. Volunteers interested in eco farming and like to live in the nature under simple conditions are welcome. Work: Dry stone building as terraces at a 2 hektars olive field with professional guidance on stone work for three weeks. Accommodation: Under tents or in the completed rooms of the centre. Warm sleeping bag and mat are necessary. Tents will be supplied. Food: Volunteers will prepare their meals by the given food. Only vegetarian food is available. Location: Kücükkuyu is a small town by the sea side. The nearest cities are Canakkale and Balıkesir. The centre is located on the hills of the town at an altitude of 400 meters and 8 km.s from the town center. The nearest village is 3 km.s away. Terminal: Istanbul. Volunteers must be aware of the simple living conditions. The weather will be cold and the work is outside. Please note that, no alcohol – drugs are permitted during the camp at the campsite and the accommodation venue. Smoking is not allowed on the fields & accommodation areas as well.
