Wir bekommen sehr positives Feedback von Freiwilligen - unter anderem aufgrund der hervorragenden Vorbereitung der Projekte und der außergewöhnlichen Gastfreundschaft der lokalen Bevölkerung.

Wir empfehlen dir dringend den Abschluss einer eigenen Kranken- und Unfallversicherung. Vor Ort bist du sonst nicht versichert. Die Kosten der Reise zum Camport tragen die Freiwilligen immer selbst. Wir können dir einen Fahrtkostenzuschuss von 100€ auszahlen, wenn alle Kriterien erfüllt sind.

Auf ins mathematische Dorf!

Have you ever heard of Mathematic Village? Probably not, because it is a 5 years old village. If you like nature and mathematic this is a tailor made project for you. If you hate mathematic you can still join the camp, as the project is not related with math but is about helping to build a non-formal education center in nature. Mathematic Village is created by a university professor aiming to endear math to young people. Around 80 math lovers gather in this center during summer holidays, to learn, exercise and study math. International and national math professors are voluntarily sharing their knowledge with young students during the mathematical activities.
WORK: The center still needs some constructional work and landscaping and volunteers are needed for this task in order to prepare the complex for the coming season.
ACCOMMODATION: In the complex of Math Village. Sleeping bag and mat are not necessary. Food is provided by the staff of the Math Village. Volunteers help the staff for preparing, cooking the meals and setting up the tables.
LOCATION: Sirince is a small village in the west of Turkey. Please be aware that the center is a bit isolated. No night life, TV or disco is available at the center. But the next village Sirince, which is only 15 minutes by foot, is very attractive and famous for its homemade wines and traditional architecture. The nearest town Selcuk, which is the home of world famous Ephessus open-air museum. The nearest city Izmir, is one hour away by coach.
TERMINAL: Istanbul. The project will start in Istanbul with a compulsory orientation meeting that all volunteers should attend on the first day of the camp. The group will travel together to the camp site by an overnight coach on the same evening. Pre Camp Days: GENCTUR also offers an optional 2 days sight seeing tour in Istanbul before this camp. Volunteers may participate in this tour with an extra cost of 45 Euro for 3 nights bed & breakfast accommodation. The program is organized according to the wishes of the participants. Englischunterricht und Freizeitaktivitäten mit türkischen Jugendlichen

Every year local scouts are camping at the end of their school year, where they join in different activities. This year the English speaking club will be added to their daily activities. We are looking for good English speaking volunteers who can share their knowledge by practicing with the scouts , who are divided in groups of 9-14 and 15-17 years . Each group will consist of 70 scouts and will stay 1 week at the camp site.
WORK: Practising English with the scouts and organizing activities for them.
ACCOMMODATION: simple; under provided tents. Sleeping bag and mat are necessary. Please note that the accommodation is very basic and with limited privacy. Bathrooms and toilets are shared. You can bring your own tent if you want. Food will be supplied in the camp site.
LOCATION: Çanakkale is a city in the north-western part of Turkey, hosting the antic site of Troy. The scout campsite will be in Kücükkuyu , which is a town located at the coast.
SPECIAL REMARKS: Volunteers don’t need to be native speakers, but a good level of English is necessary. Minimum age is 20. A motivation letter containing a Skype ID must be sent together with the application form. Applicants will be interviewed via Skype before being confirmed. No alcohol is permitted during the camp at the campsite and the accommodation area. Smoking is not allowed while volunteers are with the pupils. Can is a town with 30.000 inhabitants and famous for its ceramic factory. Every year GENCTUR is organizing teach camps to practice English with the pupils of different schools. This year our volunteers will help the 13-15 year old pupils of Atatürk Primary School, to practice English by close contacts with foreigners. GENCTUR is looking for at least 20 years old volunteers who have a good level of English to realize this aim.
WORK: Practicing English with the teenagers. Each volunteer will deal with a group of pupils in turn, each day & session.
ACCOMMODATION: In a guesthouse. Sleeping bag and mat are not necessary. Food will be supplied at the venue, some dinners may be offered by the families of the pupils.
LOCATION: Can is in the north-western part of Turkey, not very far from the antic site of Troy, Assos & Gallipoli battle fields. Nearest city is Canakkale.

Projekt mit Kindern in der Begegnungsstätte Afacan am ägäischen Meer

GENCTUR runs a summer camp for a group of kids the age of 10-14 whose families are financially supporting this holiday in Afacan Youth House (www.afacan.de) by the seaside. The fund raised by such camps is used to support disadvantaged kids to have a holiday in the same centre during GEN-22.The main theme of the camp is photography.
We are looking for communicative, talkative volunteers who are at least 20 years old with a good level of English, because practicing English with songs, games and dialogues will be a part of your task. Experiences in photography and skills in any sports (like basketball, volleyball, swimming, football, table tennis, etc.) chess, arts & crafts, music, dance, drama, in & outdoor group games are useful.
You will share the responsibilities of the leading team to take care of a group of kids and teens from the beginning until the end of the camp; including the trips outside of the camp as well as all kind of activities during the camp.
Please note that you will be dealing with the kids through the given & intensive program all day long. You will spend most of your time with the kids / teens in the camp area with a limited private life. That’s why contact with the locals is very limited; however, you will have contact with the working people and the people from other groups in Afacan Youth House. Volunteers may have fun together only after the kids have gone to bed and the team is on the late daily staff meeting in the camp. Leaving the camp area is not allowed due to unexpected emergency cases. Teamwork is very essential for this camp. Thus any volunteer who disagrees with the camp rules and team spirit are asked to leave. Smoking & drinking alcohol is not allowed during the camp at the campsite in front of the kids. Outdoorprojekt in einer lebendigen Studentenstadt

Thanks to its young population and life style which is formed by cafes and parks, Bornova is the most attractive part of the city as it’s close to the seaside and to the university campus.

GENCTUR runs a summer camp for a group of kids aged between 10-14 and turkish / foreign teenagers aged 14-17 whose families are financially supporting this holiday in Afacan Youth House (www.afacan.de), by the seaside. The fund raised by such camps is used to support disadvantaged kids to have a holiday in the same centre at GEN-22. Each group will stay for 7 days at the centre. We are looking for communicative, talkative volunteers who are at least 20 years old with a good command of English. Gestaltung eines öffentlichen Parks

LOCATION: Kavakli is a small town located in the heart of Kırklareli province (borderline with Bulgaria), 200 km from Istanbul. It is a rural town that is populated by around 4.000 inhabitants. Kırklareli is a very historic province that has been home to many different peoples such as Thracians, Romans, Byzantins, Ottomans, Bulgarians and Turks.

“My Dreams Are Becoming True” is a special project of GENCTUR designed for disadvantaged children from different regions of Turkey. This camp is sponsored by external funds as well as the funds raised by GENCTUR through extra fees of the thematic camps. All accommodation and food expenses of the disadvantaged children are covered by funds. 3 groups of economically and socially disadvantaged children from İstanbul and 2 other cities will be hosted in Afacan Youth House ( www.afacan.de ) for 1 week, each.

Themencamp zur Meeresverschmutzung

This is a very special Project for volunteers who are interested in environmental issues, but particularly the sea pollution. Our partners, Seferihisar Municipality and TURMEPA (http://www.turmepa.org.tr) are aiming to raise awareness about “clean seas” among the local kids and youth. The volunteers are expected to make a presentation about the sea pollution problems in their countries. They will also organize some activities related to the sea for the kids. There will be extra activities organized by the host like swimming, diving, boat tours, etc. The volunteers will help the host both with awareness and free time activities.
WORK: Organizing awareness, social and free time activities for the kids. Presenting problems related to the sea in their own countries and ways of solutions.
ACCOMMODATION: In a school dormitory. Sleeping bag and mat are not necessary. Food will be served at the dormitory prepared by a cook.
LOCATION: Seferihisar in the western part of Turkey. The nearest city is Izmir.

Workshopleitung in einem internationalen Zeltlager

WORK: The volunteers are going to work in a big youth camp that will be taking place for the first time this year. In the future, the municipality is planning to organize it annually. There will be young people from within and outside Turkey. The volunteers will give artistic and cultural workshops (e.g: music/percussions, theatre/pantomime, painting/graffiti, dance, photography, origami, yoga, juggling/hulahoop/poi - or any suggestions you might have) for teenagers between 14-17. Besides, there will be trips to the historic and natural sites nearby.

ACCOMMODATION: Cafeteria / Tents
LOCATION: Selçuk is a very popular coastal town in Izmir and it’s one of the biggest open air museums in the world. It is mostly known for Ephesos, an ancient city that includes Artemis Temple, which is one of the 7 wonders of the world. It attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists every year. In addition to tourism, the locals are also engaged in production of cotton, olive, grape, peach and orange. Selçuk has 5 twinning cities in Austria, Germany, Macedonia, Georgia and Greece.
TERMINAL: The nearest international airports are located in İzmir and Istanbul.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Since the volunteers are expected to give workshops for teenagers, only young people with experience on their topic should apply and provide an application including a motivation letter that describes their topic and their ability.

Aktivitäten für und mit türkischen Studenten

With contributions of sister NGOs, as well as our own financial and staff sources, GENCTUR offers a free of charge alternative holiday in Afacan Youth House (www.afacan.de) for socially and economically disadvantaged youths for social inclusion. 15 university students in each term,18-24 years old, from different, mainly from the eastern cities of Turkey will have the chance to experience a useful & different holiday during this camp. Including 2 GENCTUR leaders, the majority of the group will be Turkish. There will be 2 different groups during the camp.
GENCTUR is looking for 5 volunteers / counsellors who are able to organize, run and lead activities for the participants in different fields like practicing English, sports, drama, music, chess, indoor & outdoor games, handicraft, dance, etc. Volunteers must be at least 23 years old with experience in one the mentioned activities or in group-leading. Non formal education experience is preferred. The level of English of the camp participants will be very low. Thus the volunteer / councellors should be talkative, communicative, patient, talented and ready to teach.
WORK: Organizing, running & leading activities for the university students.

Spanisch-Camp an der ägäischen Küste

This is a special camp for Spanish speaking volunteers. Any native speaker or international volunteers who like to improve their Spanish are welcome.
WORK: Cleaning the beach to create public awareness about the pollution.

LOCATION: Urkmez is a seaside village by the Aegean Sea coast. It is in the western part of Turkey. The nearest city is Izmir.
LANGUAGE: Spanish.

Eskipazar is a small and green town. The mayor is keen of hosting foreigners in his town.
WORK: Painting the walls of electric transformer stations in order to give them a better look.
If talented volunteers arrive they may draw pictures on the walls as well.

LOCATION: Eskipazar is in the Northwest of Turkey. The next city is Karabuk.

Unterstützung bei einem internationalen Festival

WORK: The volunteers will take part the Victory Day celebrations on 30th August. Afterwards they will support the preparations for the 2nd International Milas Festival (31st August – 03rd September). During the festival, there will be exhibitions, sports competitions and concerts and the volunteers are asked to support the procedure of these events.

ACCOMMODATION: Cafeteria / Guesthouse
LOCATION: Milas is a touristic coastal town in Mugla, where the mountains meet the sea and Mediterranean meets the Aegean. The town is quite rich in terms of history. There are many ancient cities and historic places, some belonging to thousands of years ago. That is probably the reason why Milas is also a member of the “Association of Historic Towns in Turkey”.

LOCATION: Yenipazar is a province of Aydin. There you can see local people playing traditional games and also the strawberry greenhouses that are famous for the town. Great local food is offered in this area and besides, the city is the second Turkish candidate town of “Cittaslow” network.

WORK: The work in Mugla will take place at an animal shelter belonging to the municipality. The volunteers will be responsible for cleaning and taking care of the animals as well as the cleaning of the animals’ habitats 5 hours a day. In the free time there will be trips to some historical and touristic sites nearby.
PARTNER: Our partner is Mugla Municipality with whom we have a long history of cooperation. Just like last year, the host in Mugla is an ex-volunteer! More information can be found about the city and the municipality at www.mugla.bel.tr/.
ACCOMMODATION: Self-catering / Guesthouse
LOCATION: Mugla is one of the most touristic Aegean cities in Turkey and lies at the southwestern coast. It has many touristic coastal towns like Bodrum, Fethiye, Milas and others which attract thousands of tourists every year. The city is a member of the “Association of Historic Towns in Turkey”. The city offers a lot of cultural events and activities.
TERMINAL: The nearest international airports are located in Izmir and Istanbul.

LOCATION: Mersin is a large city with Turkey’s second tallest skyscraper (the 52 story Mertim Tower) and a busy port on the Mediterranean coast of southern Turkey. The city is famous for its sandwich with grilled meats wrapped in flat bread named “Tantuni”.
TERMINAL: The nearest international airports are located in Istanbul and Adana.

The irrigation canals of Karahalli town need to be cleaned in order to enable the smooth running of the water in the canal. The town had the same project in 1998 now we will repeat it.
WORK: Taking out the mud and rubbish from the irrigation canal.
ACCOMMODATION: In a student dormitory. Sleeping bag and mat are not necessary. Food will be supplied by the municipality.
LOCATION: Karahallı is a town in the western part of Turkey. Nearest city is Usak.
TERMINAL: Istanbul. The project will start in Istanbul with a compulsory orientation meeting that all volunteers should attend on the first day of the camp. The group will travel together to the camp site by an overnight coach on the same evening.

WORK: The volunteers will be asked to do some environmental renovation work like planting trees, gardening and landscaping. In addition there will be done some cleaning work around lake Emre. The working time is 9:00 am to 16:00 pm including a 90 minute lunch break.Trips to local historical and cultural sites will be organized.
PARTNER: Our partner is Afyonkarahisar Municipality. We have been organizing workcamps with Afyonkarahisar Municipality since 2005. For more information about the municipality, please visit www.afyon-bld.gov.tr.

LOCATION: Afyonkarahisar is located at the intersection of three regions: Aegean, Mediterranean and Central Anatolian Regions. The city is mostly known for the Phyrgian Valley, marble and Turkish delight. There are also some fairy chimneys and thermal foundations which attract many tourists every year. The city is a member of the “Association of Historic Towns in Turkey”.
TERMINAL: The nearest international airports are located in Ankara and Izmir.

LOCATION: Getting its name from the ancient temple of Apollon called “Didiymeion”, Didim is one of the remaining cultural centres of the ancient Greek. With its beautiful beaches, its clear sea and the ease of international transportation from Izmir, Didim is popular touristic area. It’s one of the only two touristic towns of Aydin.

WORK: Volunteers will be given some environmental and renovation work in and around the university campus of Kastamonu. The tasks will be landscaping, cleaning and maintaining the area around the faculty buildings. There will be trips to the sites nearby.

LOCATION: Kastamonu is a central northern city on the Black Sea coastline with a population of 400.000 about 500km from Istanbul and 250km from Ankara. It is popular for all sorts of touristic activities: from winter sports to seaside action, faith tourism to natural beauties, historic highlights to archeology and even cuisine. It has a long history and has hosted many civilisations throughout the ages like Hittites, Phrygians, Lydians, Persians, Macedonians, Greeks and Ottomans.
TERMINAL: The nearest international airports are located in Istanbul and Ankara.

Projekt im Jugendzentrum von Sanliurfa

Sanliurfa Municipality is going to host a group of international for the second time. Volunteers will support the daily activities of the youth center. The age of the local youth attending the seminars, courses or ateliers in the center is between 14 and 25.
WORK: Organizing social activities and English courses in the youth center of the municipality.
ACCOMMODATION: In a dormitory, sleeping bag & mat are not necessary Food will be supplied by the municipality .
LOCATION: SanliUrfa is a big city by the Syrian border. The locals have Turkish, Kurdish, Armenian and Arabian origins. The city is also famous for kebab foods.
SPECIAL REMARKS: Volunteers must have a talent or interest on a certain subject to teach at the youth center. A motivation letter should be sent with the application form.
TERMINAL: Istanbul. The project will start in Istanbul with a compulsory orientation meeting that all volunteers should attend on the first day of the camp. The group will travel all over Turkey from west to the south-east by coach (21 hours) on the second day of the camp. Thus 1 overnight stay in Istanbul is compulsory with an extra cost of 15 Euro on bed & breakfast basis. The meals in Istanbul and on the way to the camp site are volunteers’ responsibility until the group reaches to the camp site. The rest of the camp days will be spent in Sanliurfa province.

Olivenernte in der Begegnungsstätte Afacan

Afacan Youth Center ( http://www.afacan.de ) is a place where GENCTUR runs voluntary Workcamps for disadvantaged youths and children, disabled people, teenagers and kids. In order to supply annual olive and olive oil stocks, the Center will host volunteers to pick up and process olives from a municipal field.
WORK: Volunteers will collect olives from the trees, separate them according to quality, pack them, make stripes on the olives, etc. There is a chance to see the process of making the olive oil in a factory. As the Youth Center will be closed after this camp the volunteers will be asked to help to carry goods and do some cleaning work as well as part of their daily work.
ACCOMMODATION: In the youth center, in double rooms with toilet and shower. Food will be supplied at the Center.
LOCATION: Yenisakran is by the Aegean Sea, in western part of Turkey. The next city is Izmir.
TERMINAL: İzmir. Volunteers should arrange their arrivals to İzmir Aiport. Further and alternative details about arrival will be given on the info sheet.
