Die Workcamps in Portugal früher zentral vom portugiesischen Ministerium IPJ (Instituto Portugues da Juventude) finanziert und vermittelt, aber von verschiedenen Initiativen vor Ort organisiert (z.B. aus dem Bereich Jugendarbeit, ökologische Initiativen, etc.). Aufgrund der schwierigen finanziellen Lage des portugiesischen Staates kann IPJ diese Aufgabe 2011 nicht wahrnehmen. Einzelne Partner vor Ort führen jedoch weiter ihre bewährten Projekte durch, sind nun aber auf einen finanziellen Beitrag der Freiwilligen angewiesen (50 € Extra-fee).
Eine Partnerorganisation ist "Aventura Marão Clube" (AMC).

Die Teilnehmer werden für den Campzeitraum versichert, dennoch die "European Health Card" bitte mitnehmen! Camps in Portugal empfehlen wir Teilnehmern mit Workcamp- oder Reiseerfahrungen, da die Organisation und Durchführung mitunter etwas chaotisch ausfällt. Längere Wartezeiten bis zur Bestätigung sind keine Ausnahme.

Dreisprachiges Camp beim “International Meeting of Cinema, Television, Video and Multimedia”

PROJECT: With more than two decades of existence, Cine-Club of Avanca produces, distributes and exhibits cinema works and audiovisuals beyond organizing, since 1997, the “International Meeting of Cinema, Television, Video and Multimedia”. Website: www.avanca.com
WORK: Volunteers in this workcamp are involved in various levels of the organization, providing a determinant support for the success of this International Meeting. Being AVANCA an idea sharing favored space, creative fusion and cultural interchange between, professionals, students and cinema and multimedia lovers, IWC volunteers will naturally participate and dive in this international, culture and creative atmosphere.
During preparation: Sinalethic setting for the different spaces in AVANCA 2012; Poster and pending poster distribution; Exposition setting and Organization;
Adaptation of the EB23 Egas Moniz school classrooms for workshops attainment; Workshop related Video-Informatics equipment installation and testing; Cleaning and preparation of the Auditorium of Avanca for competitive sessions of Cinema and Video; Organization of the EB23 Egas Moniz School’s polyvalent for the Television competitive sessions; Airport reception and welcoming of the AVANCA’09 international guests – directors, actors, producers, technicians, etc... Cleaning and maintenance of spaces and sanitary installations used by the IWC;
During the International Meeting: Check-in support for the AVANCA 2012 participants and guests; Organization of the available camping for the workshop participants; Gestation and maintenance of the Workshop rooms; Cantina support; AVANCA 2012 sale posts support (Which will have several articles related with the festival); AVANCA 2012 Secretariat support; AVANCA 2012 Press Cabinet Support; Film Projection support during competitive sessions; Cleaning and maintenance of the AVANCA 2012 related installations; Exposition Safety; Support to Gastronomy Festival held in AVANCA 2012 weekend;
After the Meeting: Collecting and verifying workshops’ equipment; Reposition of the used spaces on their initial configuration and cleaning of the same spaces. Collecting the material of the expositions and wrapping the exposed works;Collecting AVANCA 2012 posters and pending posters in Avanca and in Aveiro region.
ACCOMMODATION: Lodgment will be in tents in a specific place of Egas Moniz School, in Avanca. School cook will provide meals. Some of these meals will take place in restaurants of Avanca

Säuberungsaktion im Fluß Anços

PROJECT: This organization exhibits a project where the main objective is to allow young people to be involved in a volunteering program aiming at environment protection as well as contributing for volunteering work valorization.
WORK: Concerning the activities during the camp, the mornings, from 9.00 until 13.00, will be reserved to cleaning activities in the inside Anços River; the afternoons and the evenings, as well as the Saturdays and Sundays, will be reserved to leisure, sports, visiting local and regional monuments, getting in contact with the local culture and customs.
ACCOMMODATION: The participants will camp in tents over at the installations of Quinta Sant’Ana. There will be served 5 meals, 2 in the restaurant (Lunch and dinner).
LOCATION: The camp will be located near Estrada Nacional nº1, between Lisboa and Porto, approximately 10 kms of Pombal, and it’s about 20 minutes from the sea.

Gemeinnützige Arbeiten und Organisation von Sportveranstaltungen

WORK: The name of the Camp is “Let’s help” and its main goal is to do community work like: help the elder, clean public spaces, call the population’s attention to hygiene, cleaning and environmental issues. The participants will also organize an athletics running and a walk to show the population the importance of an active ageing and a supportive relationship between generations. The participants will also have the opportunity to attend some Portuguese lessons; to learn about each country present in the camp, mainly its food and culture; to make sportive activities and to share experiences.
ACCOMMODATION: camping tents in the association's headquarters; Food: breakfast; lunch and dinner (sometimes made by participants).
LOCATION: Vila de Cucujães
LEISURE: They will have the chance to visit our town and also Aveiro and Porto, to taste the Oporto wine, famous all over the world, and to see its monuments full of history. They will go to the beach and also to the mountain. An opportunity to live a unique experience where working, learning and having fun are together.
TERMINAL: Airport Porto, bus station Cucujães
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: sleeping bag; sports clothing; personal hygiene related articles and good mood.

Instandhaltung von touristischen Zielen in einem Naturpark

The FAJUDIS (Federation of Youth Associations of the District of Santarém), located in Constancia, is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support and develop the youth associations in the District of Santarém, promoting actions that mobilize young people and associations to have a entrepreneurial attitude in the associative cause. As major functions, FAJUDIS offers various types of support services to associations and young people: provides a resource center, training and workshops, technical advisory services and support to the constitution of new associations. Besides, FAJUDIS develops studies and participates in international, national and local projects in the follow areas: gender equality; solidarity, community service and volunteering; international cooperation; civic participation; Active citizenship; Democracy; among others. In addition to these experiences, we promote regularly a direct contact with various international, national and local organisations. We developed partnerships with the animation School of Madrid, the Sargantana Association of Canfranc, the ANIMAR-Portuguese Association for Local development, Europe Direct Centre, IPDJ-Portuguese Institute of sport and youth, FNAJ-National Federation of Youth Associations and with the project ProCarso-Serra D'aire e Candeeiros. Consequently, we intend to continue the work we have been doing, in favour of the youth, the volunteering sector, the active citizenship, by promoting the development of skills and proactive attitudes that stimulate creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship
WORK: Maintenance of the tourist key points of Natural Park of Serras D'aire e Candeeiros; Improvement of exterior spaces and facades of buildings of the cooperative "Terra Chã", as well as some associations of the region in cooperation with the villagers; Management of activities with the inhabitants of the village, in order to create a new conscience about the importance of the preservation of the local heritage; Establishment of contacts between the youth of the village and young people from different nationalities and cultures, in such a way to encourage them, to have more proactive attitude in conservation and upgrading of the local heritage. The central tasks will be many works in the village's heritage conservation; Participation in workshops about the importance of local development in the village of Chãos, as well as participation in activities with inhabitants of the village; Maintenance and placement of informational panels about the points of interest in the region of Alcobertas; Team work with the population; Creating a blog, which will serve as a diary of activities performed and which shall be written by the participants; Participation and animation of a workshop on youth volunteering.
Activities: Cultural visits in the region and key points of interest (Batalha, Óbidos, Nazaré, Fátima,…) ; Visits to the natural park of Serra d’ Aire e Candeeiros; Trip to the beach; Visits to the various associations in the region of Santarém.
ACCOMMODATION: In the Center “Terra Chã I” in Chãos with dormitories 4 rooms with 6 beds each. Facilities: Bar; Internet access; conference room; sheets and towels are included.
Meeting point: 16.08., Rio Maior bus station at 14:00h.

Organisation von Aktivitäten zum Thema Fair Trade

PROJECT: The aim of the project is to raise awareness among the participants and the population on organic farms, organic food and fair trade: The volunteers will develop skills related to agriculture work in organic farms and environment preservation.
ACTIVITIES: You will get a training on fair trade and sustainable development (ex.: workshop about Fair Trade and healthy food). The international helpers will be in direct contact with local organic producers and work with them. You will visit some of the main cities and spots in the North of Portugal (Guimarães, Porto, Parque Natural do Alvão). The group will run activities in order to increase the level of commitment at local level (Amarante) for organic and fair trade products.
ACCOMMODATION/FOOD: Participants will be accommodated in shared rooms (4 participants each) of Casa da Juventude de Amarante (even so participants should all bring sleeping bag). Casa da Juventude de Amarante has its own kitchen, toilets and showers. In terms of food, our youth centre has a bar\restaurant proposal for the volunteers (breakfast, lunch and dinner) always taking into consideration our aims (healthy food with organic and vegetarian ingredients). Laundry available (self-service). Our youth centre has free wireless.
LOCATION: Amarante is a small town in the North of Portugal, part of Porto district (60km far from Porto, to the interior) with 12 thousand inhabitants (in the center). It is a quite famous city for tourism, culture and wine production. Quite near (18km) is the Oporto wine region. It is crossed by Tâmega River (one of the rivers ending at Douro River that crosses Porto till the Atlantic Ocean). In the valley is one of the most important Portuguese mountains, Marão (1450m). Amarante is well located (nearby passes highway A4 connecting to Oporto and highway A11 connecting to Guimarães) and has a good public transport system (bus station). The city is 40 min way from the nearest airport (Oporto) by car.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION: Please bring your sleeping bag, sun protector, swimming suits, working and sports clothes and shoes with you.
