| In der Mongolei werden seit einigen Jahren internationale Workcamps von unserer Partnerorganisation Mongolian Camp Exchange (MCE) angeboten. Wir haben sehr gute Berichte von Teilnehmenden an diesen Camps bekommen. Die Mongolei ist sicher was für alle, die mal was ganz anderes sehen möchten und auch mit sehr einfachen Lebensbedingungen zurechtkommen. Die Mongolei ist per Flugzeug aber auch mit der Transsibirischen Eisenbahn zu erreichen. MCE holt die Campteilnehmer am Flughafen oder Bahnhof ab. | |
Zur Finanzierung der Projekte wird vor Ort eine Extra-Gebühr von € 165 fällig, welche direkt nach deiner Ankunft beglichen werden sollte. Wir empfehlen dringend den Abschluss einer eigenen Auslandskrankenversicherung. Für Vegetarier/innen sind die Workcamps in der Mongolei nicht geeignet! | |
Mongolei MCE/15 Kids camp-2 (Khandgait) 02.08.-15.08.2010 KIDS/CULT 15vols
Before 1990, there were many kids summer camps in Mongolia, but it decreased a lot. In some cases due to financial situation it became difficult to run summer camps. We started to support the summer camps organised by Childcare Center of Mongolia who has been cooperating with us a lot! So we will help to run the summer camps with organizing many kind of activities with kids and help to take care of the kids etc. We will also give financial support through the budget of MCE and the workcamps.
WORK: We will organize many different cultural and sportive activities with the kids. Additionally we will help with everyday?s work in the summer camp and take care of the kids. Also, some actions within the Greening Asia (Asian action to protect forests)and Bracelet project (Asian action to decrease kids prostitution) may be organized.
LEISURE ACTIVITIES: Cultural exchange program, excursions, etc.
ACCOMMODATION: Summer camp house. Sleeping bag neccessary! Meals are provided.

Mongolei MCE/16 Orphanage's farm-5 (Buhug river) 05.08.-18.08.2010 KIDS/AGRI 20vols
The Childcare Centre of Mongolia (CCM) is a only fully government-funded orphanage in Mongolia. The orphanage was established in 1974. It started as a nursery cum pre-school and later in 1979, expanded to providing facilities for older children. The pre-school kids range between 3-6 years old and the older kids, between 6-18 years. Pre-school and School kids are living in 2 separate places in Ulaanbaatar. The school age kids place we call 'Orphanage' and it is a 3-storey building and house. 'Pre-school' kids' place we call kindergarden and they live in a single storey building.
There are currently a total of 300 children comprising approximately 150 younger kids and 150 older kids. 35 teachers and 50 staff run the Centre. The children live in a very deprived environment. Facilities and living space are limited. The main concern is food and education facilities. They rely heavily on fundings from the government. Some small plots of land are available for the Centre to cultivate vegetables to feed the kids in the place which is called Buhug river. The elder 30 kids of Orphanage who are between 12-16 years old work there during the 3 months of summer. They produce vegetables such as carrots, radish, onions, etc. just enough for their meals all year (they keep it 4 meter under the ground for one year that is a quite magic!) The vegetables are very purely organic and very tasty and kids are very nice!
Since 2000, volunteers from all over the world have been participating in summer programs designed to improve the kids vegetable farm. Volunteers will help out in the vegetable farm.
WORK: We will work together with the kids aged 12-15 to remove the weeds in the field. Quite tiring but let's enjoy it with them! Around 30 kids come here during the summer holiday of them which is between June to August. Main work of volunteers are to help Orphanage's vegetable farm. Weeding wild plants, watering the farm and trees etc. Also volunteers will organize sports and cultural activity with children. Such as play games, party etc.

ACCOMMODATION: Mongolian traditional tents which is GER (traditional tent). leeping bag neccessary! Cooked by volunteers (with support from local staff)
LOCATION: 45 km from Ulaanbaatar. Place name is BUHUG. The sight is just unbelievably beautiful, typical Mongolian plain.

Mongolei MCE/22 School-1 (Ulaanbaatar) 17.09.-30.09.2010 KIDS/EDU 8vols
Will be organized together with MCE (Mongolian workCamps Exchange) and one of the secondary school in Mongolia. Mongolia has 12 years Secondary school system. Until 1990 kids/students had only the possibility to learn Russian as a second language. But since 1990 we changed our political and economical system. Since this time we have chance to study 3rd language. But studying English is still very rare and MCE is always focusing to improve it.
WORK: The main work will be to teach English, songs, games to the kids that can be advantage for them to find jobs and also to exchange with international volunteers, in the future. We may also do some workshops with the kids for Asian common actions about enivironmental issues and kids protection.
