Our organizations mission says that we are a strong and value-based children and youth non-governmental organization that in achieving its goals, objectives and basic principles acts as impetus for the strengthening of the basic principles of civil society. Our main aim is to unite children and youth to promote their participation in non-formal education in order to develop their skills and abilities to take part actively in social processes at local, national and international levels.
All our activities coincide with our values such as fairness and equality; mutual understanding and tolerance; active and healthy way of living; the development of personality; understanding and a creative atmosphere; environment-friendly behaviour.
Our target group is children and youth in Bauska, Iecava, Rundāle and Vecumnieki municipalities. Within our strategy, we point out five directions of our activities.

AGE: 18-28
PROJECT: The local partner is the Aizdzire Manor Project (www.gutshof-adsirn.eu), a social-entrepreneurial initiative. Our goals are to preserve the manor and the estate, to renovate and reconstruct buildings, to maintain the surrounding park and land, and to develop perspectives for a meaningful future use of the whole place. Our initiative relies upon the enthusiasm and the community spirit of all project participants and is embedded into an environment of education, culture, international exchange, social responsibility, and sustainability.
WORK: The volunteers will be doing a variety of cleaning and maintenance activities in the park and around the buildings and ruins. There will be other activities going on on Aizdzire Manor apart from the work camp, so work camp participants will have a broader opportunity to interact with people and activities. Depending on talent and interest of the participants, it may for example be possible to join activities in the area of media, historical research, or the making of simple wood constructions such as garden furniture.
ACCOMMODATION: The group will be accommodated in our project base “Tenni”, a historical building of moderate size that is close to the estate. It has recently been renovated and equipped with modern standard, during which the building´s rustic charm was preserved though. The house provides a modern kitchen. Each day, it will be somebody else´s turn to prepare food, and we appreciate if you bring a recipe from your home country that you make the group familiar with. The house also provides a room for group work and social gathering as well as some sleeping possibilities. The latter will be extended by group tends in the garden, so please bring air mattress and sleeping bag.
LOCATION AND LEISURE: Aizdzire Manor is located on the edge of the “Abava river valley” nature park. The city of Kandava, whose roots date back to the middle ages, is 6 km away, and tempts visitors with a small but charming historical city centre, the ruin of the mediaeval castle, and some opportunities to buy stuff, eat, or to sit outside for a juice or a beer. Following the Aizdzire manor initiative´s philosophy to provide to the project participants a valuable experience in an environment of education, culture, and international exchange, an accordingly composed program of excursions, lectures and leisure activities accompanies the participants´ stay. This program of events is open to own ideas of the volunteers.
