Ein Jugendaustausch gefördert von der Europäischen Kommission:

Frankreich: SJ67 "Little Blue Hands Co" La Ferte sous Jouarre 28.08 - 17.09    FESTIVAL
20 volunteers 18-26 years old.
This project is a special project supported by the European Commission with volunteers from France, Finland, Italy and Germany.
PROJECT: From the Middle Ages to the first half of the 20th century, the city of la Ferté sous Jouarre has experienced prosperity through the extraction and manufacture of millstone that have been exported worldwide. The sudden decline of this industry has left a deep trauma. Throughout France, industrial wastelands witness these brutal economic and social changes and are sometimes converted into cultural places. Here in la Ferté sous Jouarre it is the memory of that hard work of these people, which is also our heritage, we want to honor with a festival of street arts. All of the elements are symbolic to the past, and it is this symbolism that is passed and reinterpreted in the spirit of the festival. The « blue hands » are those of the workers who were cutting the stone and stealing pieces of the flint which penetrated the flesh. The hand can be seen as the symbol of the work but also as the symbol of giving and sharing. On September 15th 2012, the city of la Ferté sous Jouarre renew for the 4 th consecutive year, the Festival of Blue Hands. With a partnership of the city of la Ferté sous Jouarre, Vir'Volt organizes a European exchange of the youth bringing together 15 to 20 participants from different countries including local youth people.
The aims of this project are :
-to discover and participate in the enhancement of the local cultural and environmental heritage
-encourage cross-cultural encounters between young Europeans and the inhabitants
-enable young people from various backgrounds to participate to a local
project through the creation of concrete work and community
To do this, the project provides :
-daily workshops of artistic creations (decors, performances)
-time for discovering the environment and local history
-time for meeting and doing exchange with the inhabitants
-time for meeting professional street-art companies
-a collective restitution in the Festival on September 15 th
